DAT Supply order documentation
Included with your order

The documents, and when each one reaches you

Seven documents come with every Private Label order, each released at the point in the order where it applies, for the market you select.

  1. Product specification

Your confirmed formula, active amounts, serving, product configuration and packaging details.
Included When your formula is confirmed
  2. Nutrition & label data

Product data, directions, warnings and nutritional / active information needed to prepare your label.
    Included With your specification
  3. Artwork review & guidelines

We review your artwork against the confirmed product information and provide label guidance before production. You approve the final artwork.
    Included Before production
  4. Allergen information

Product-specific allergen information based on the confirmed formulation and production information.
    Included With your specification
  5. Market launch documentation

Documentation prepared for your selected target market to support product launch and applicable notification or filing requirements. Requirements vary by product and market. Government filings and fees, translations, legalisation and additional market- or retailer-specific work are not part of the standard documentation.
    Included For your selected market
  6. Batch release & traceability

Your DAT finished-product batch / lot reference and the batch release and traceability documentation for the finished order.
    Included With your batch
  7. Delivery documentation

Packing list and applicable shipment / transport documentation.
    Included At dispatch

Third-party testing / Certificate of Analysis Optional

Independent lab testing is available on request.

Documents land in your DAT Supply account as your order moves forward. Final label use, market filings and product placement remain your responsibility unless expressly included in the agreed scope.

In plain terms

What these documents actually are

The terms that come up most often when documentation is agreed for your market.

Specification (spec)

The per-SKU reference document — format, composition direction and pack configuration — that formulation, packaging and label content are all checked against. It is drafted early and then locked, so every later document is built against the same fixed reference.

Certificate of Analysis (COA)

A document confirming what a specific batch tested at, against the specification — typically identity, potency and relevant purity or contaminant parameters for that batch. A COA is batch-specific by nature: it describes a production run, not a permanent property of a product line. A Certificate of Analysis or independent lab testing is available on request — it is not automatically included with every batch.

Batch documentation

The release and traceability records tied to one manufacturing run — batch number, production and best-before dates and the release record for that run. It is issued with your batch, never before, because it documents what was actually made.

Scope

Standard documentation included

Standard documentation included. Independent lab testing is available on request.

Included with every Private Label order

  • Product specification
  • Nutrition & label data
  • Artwork review & guidelines
  • Allergen information
  • Market launch documentation
  • Batch release & traceability
  • Delivery documentation

Certificates and documents DAT already holds for the product are shared where they apply.

Not part of the standard documentation

  • Independent laboratory Certificate of Analysis
  • Supplier CoAs and raw-material certificates
  • Additional microbiology, heavy-metal or pesticide testing
  • Retailer-specific due diligence and questionnaires
  • Special certifications
  • Export documentation and legalisation
  • Translations
  • Documentation for additional markets or marketplaces
  • Bespoke regulatory or legal work

Independent lab testing is available on request. A change to an existing DAT Supply formula itself is a Formula Adaptation project.

A genuinely new formula and larger technical work — due-diligence packs, testing programmes, regulatory or compliance projects — are handled as a Custom Project and reviewed individually.

Buyer due diligence

Certification frameworks buyers commonly ask about

Brand teams often build a supplier due-diligence checklist around named frameworks. In general industry terms:

ISO 9001

Quality-management systems — a general standard for consistent process control, not specific to food or supplements.

ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000

Food-safety management systems, built on HACCP principles.

BRCGS / IFS

Retailer-driven global food-safety standards, common requirements from UK and EU retail buyers.

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)

Baseline production and hygiene controls that the frameworks above are typically built on top of.

This is general background, not a statement that any framework applies to your product. Where your order or retailer needs specific certification evidence, the requirement is confirmed and scoped for that order.

Related: cost and pricing drivers, artwork and label process, MOQ and lead times.

In your account

Where your order documents live

Your specification, allergen statement, label review and batch documents each land in your account at the point they exist — one place, not an email thread.

  1. 1 Specification
  2. 2 Allergen statement
  3. 3 Label & artwork review

FAQ

Documentation questions

When do I receive each document?

Each document lands in your account at the point it exists: product specification when your formula is confirmed; nutrition & label data and allergen information with your specification; artwork review & guidelines before production; market launch documentation for your selected market; batch release & traceability with your batch; delivery documentation at dispatch.

Who provides my documentation?

DAT Supply is your contracting supplier for the products it supplies. We manage the product, production and documentation workflow. DAT provides the standard documentation for the product it supplies: specification, label and product data, batch documentation and delivery documentation.

Is third-party testing included?

Not by default. The standard documentation above is included with every Private Label order. Independent lab testing is available on request.

Is supplier or raw-material documentation included?

Not by default. For standard Private Label we don't provide the upstream manufacturing site address; the product and batch documentation is supplied with the order.

Where do I find my documents?

Project documentation is released inside your DAT Supply account, matched to where your order is — not sent as a generic pack up front.

Who is responsible for final regulatory filings?

DAT supplies the product information and the standard documentation, reviews your artwork against the confirmed product information and gives label guidance, and supports the documentation for your selected market. You approve the final artwork. Final label use, market filings and product placement remain your responsibility unless expressly included in the agreed scope.

Does DAT register or notify my product in my market?

DAT prepares the standard documentation for your selected market to support your launch and any applicable notification or filing. Requirements vary by product and market. Government filings and fees, translations, legalisation and additional market- or retailer-specific work are not part of the standard documentation. Acceptance rests with the authority, retailer or marketplace concerned.

What does a Certificate of Analysis (COA) actually show?

A COA confirms what a specific production batch tested at, against the specification — typically identity, potency and the relevant purity or contaminant parameters for that batch. It describes one production run, not a standing certification of the product line.

What is the difference between the specification and a COA?

The specification is the fixed reference drafted and locked early in the project — what the product is meant to be. The COA is issued after production and confirms what a specific batch actually tested at against that specification. One is the target; the other is the batch-level result.

What certifications does DAT Supply hold?

This page does not list certifications. Where your order or retailer requires specific certification evidence — for example under ISO, BRCGS, IFS, FSSC 22000 or a GMP-based system — the requirement is confirmed and scoped for that order before production.

Is a batch-specific COA the same as a facility certification?

No. A COA describes one production batch only. A certification is a separate status and cannot be inferred from a batch document.
